RATE OF PAY:  $15.00/hr + possible incentives


The Education Coach is responsible for providing extensive academic tutoring in math and reading.  Instruction and activities are designed expressly to promote subject mastery, develop grade level competencies and to teach study skills.  The Education Coach must follow designated curriculum to aid children in their academic success.


Must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and be a State Certified Teacher.   Must have experience working with children in an academic setting.  Get SMART, Working with 5-12 Year Olds, CPR/AED and First Aid preferred.


The candidate must be mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions.  Must have good communication skills.  May be required to lift 15 pounds in books and supplies.


  1. *Maintain accurate attendance records at all times.
  2. *Assist School Liaison in preparing for tutoring sessions.
  3. *Assist children in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material.
  4. *Teach children study skills necessary for academic success.
  5. *Provide academic assistance to assigned children.
  6. Establish a positive rapport with children, parents and staff in the program.
  7. Maintains cleanliness of YMCA equipment and school facilities.
  8. *Document, track and maintain daily progress of academic records.
  9. *Provide feedback regarding child's progress and behavior.
