Position Title: Member (Customer) Service/Data Entry & Processing
Status: Full-time
FLSA: Non-exempt
Starting Pay:
$12.37/hr - $13.67/hr
Shift: Monday Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:

This is an excellent opportunity in the Association Offices of a YMCA with approximately 900 employees and 1000 volunteers. This position is responsible for managing the database of program participants including school age programs accounts. It is also responsible for YMCA data including program offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides excellent service through maintaining accurate data. This includes registration, updates and corrections to accounts.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating information to members regarding accounts. This includes year-end statements, past due accounts and answering general questions.
  • Runs and manages reports from database.
  • Enters, maintains and reviews YMCA data including camps, school site offerings and other information needed in the database.
  • Ability to work towards common goals in a collaborative and team-centered environment.
  • Provides support in all areas of the Member Engagement Center.
  • Creates a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum of three years office or personal computer experience required.

Physical: May be required to lift and carry up to 30 pounds in the form of boxes of computer paper or similar. May be required to sit for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on computer and other equipment. Receives and follows general instructions. Must be capable of working under pressure in a somewhat disruptive environment as well as organizing and planning efficiently.

Mental: Must be mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions. Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute. Must possess strong knowledge and experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database management, graphics, and applicable personal computer applications. Must possess effective communication, organizational and human relations skills. Must have effective research skills and writing abilities and be highly motivated. Initiative and discriminating judgement required. Works with minimal or no supervision. Effective office and administrative skills required.
